    System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) is a searchable database for financial statements, annual reports, and other important documentation issued by publicly listed companies in Canada.

  • Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Real-Time Data Research Center

    There are twelve (12) federal reserve banks in the US. The Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has a navigable website, and is actively involved in public education activities. The Philly Fed’s Real-Time Data Research Center “produces macroeconometric analyses and collects and maintains a variety of data sets” (e.g. CPI, GDP, GNI) which make it a great resource for researchers, and analysts.

    There are twelve (12) federal reserve banks in the US. The Reserve Bank of St. Louis has a navigable website, and its trending search terms (on the landing page) means that most folks can go directly to the content that they need. All in all it’s a great resource for researchers, and analysts.

    The name says it all taxamortisation.com is a great resource for finding tax amortisation rates and useful life info for intangible assets in various countries.

  • StatsCan

    The definitive source for statistical data in Canada. The government agency compiles data on the economy, commodity prices, population, and even esoteric topics like internet usage.

  • StatsCan - Canada & the World Stats Hub

    The Hub presents data related to Canada’s economic and financial activity with the world. The site brings together data from several StatsCan products in an easily navigable interactive analytical tool. The Hub presents information by themes (e.g. trade, investment, employment and travel). It also provides links to more detailed data and information regarding definitions, concepts and methods.

    To drill down into data, go to the “Add/Remove Data” button, select industry type, geography, reference period, and financial and taxation components.

  • CRA - CCA Rates

    If a depreciable asset is acquired, the acquirer can can deduct the cost(s) over several years. This yearly deduction is called a capital cost allowance (“CCA”), and varies by asset.

  • CRA - Accelerated Investment Incentive

    Under the Accelerated Investment Incentive measure, certain capital property will be eligible for an enhanced first-year allowance. The property will be eligible if it is acquired after November 20, 2018, and becomes available for use before 2028.

    As a result, eligible property currently subject to the half-year rule will qualify for an enhanced CCA equal to 3x the normal first-year deduction. Eligible property not subject to the half-year rule will qualify for 1.5x the normal first-year deduction.
